Be Informed: 2017 Hurricane Awareness Seminar

The threat is real so don’t miss this event! All Florida residents need to be up to date on how to survive a hurricane. Mark your calendar for Tuesday, May 23 and plan to attend the Hurricane Awareness Seminar from 2 – 4pm at the Englewood United Methodist Church, 700 E Dearborn St. Guest speakers Gerard Mallet, Director of Charlotte County EMS, and Edward McCrane, Director of Sarasota County EMS will educate you on how to prepare for and survive a hurricane. Information will be available on evacution routes, shelters, how to prepare you and your home, what to do with your pets, and much more. Representatives from the following businesses will be present to answer your questions: American Red Cross, Dr. Gurland from Lemon Bay Animal Hospital, HealthSouth Rehab, Home Depot, Key Agency, Englewood Amateur Radio Society, Englewood Health & Rehab, Englewood Community Hospital, Suncoast Community Blood Mobile, Englewood Fire Dept, Gulf Side Hurricane Shutters, Billy Kimberlin Roofing, Heritage Oaks Assisted Living & Memory Care, My Halo Home Health, and Doors+More Garage Door & Construction. Refreshments provided and non-perishable food donations would be greatly appreciated for Englewood Helping Hand. You also have the opportunity to donate blood at the Suncoast Community Blood Mobile from 1 – 5pm. The event is sponsored by Doctor’s Choice Home Care, Inc. For more info, call 270•2505.
