Englewood Beach Waterfest Happening This Weekend

Don’t miss the exciting Englewood Beach Waterfest OPA (Offshore Powerboat Association) World Championship Friday, Nov. 17 – Sunday, Nov. 19. Friday evening 5 pm kicks off the fun at the Dearborn St. Block Party where you can see the boats up close and meet the race teams while enjoying food and entertainment. Races are held Saturday and Sunday at Englewood Beach with the gates opening at 9am and races starting at Noon. Over 60 boats will be running at speeds up to and over 130 miles per hour! The Race Village at Englewood Beach will have live bands, food, beverages, vendors and you can stroll through the race pits. Shuttle buses from various Englewood locations will take you out to Race Village so parking isn’t a concern. Tickets include entry, parking, bus transportation and specials at participating businesses and may be purchased for $15 advance at englewoodbeachwaterfest.com or locations around town. Gate price: $20. More info on the website or call 473•9795.
