Englewood Fireworks Display
Lemon Bay Sunrise Rotary Club invites you to wind down your celebration of America’s independence with the “Best Fireworks Display in SW Florida!” With over 2,400 packed shells, expect a spectacular light and sound show produced by Garden State Fireworks. Patriotic music will be simulcast by WENG 1530 AM and 107.5 FM. As in years past, the show will begin Wed. July 4 at 9:05pm from Middle Beach/Blind Pass across Lemon Bay. On the water, the best place to view the display is in Lemon Bay, the closer to Royal Palm Marina the better. For land viewing, any strip of waterfront that can hold a folding chair or blanket from Indian Mound Park up to Lemon Bay Park affords good viewing. The parking lot at Middle Beach is the prime spot as it is at the epicenter of the launch site. Other public viewing areas are Indian Mound Park, Cherokee Park, Veterans Park (end of Dearborn St.) and Lemon Bay Park. The Tom Adams and North Manasota bridges offer distant views.
It’s North Port’s 14th annual Freedom Festival on July 4 starting at 6pm with fun, live music and entertainment for the entire family including a family activity area and a kids area with power jumper, obstacle course and tropical slide. There will also be food & vendor booths, refreshments and fireworks after dark. Bring your blanket or folding chair for the fireworks. No coolers, pets, personal fireworks, chairs, or sparklers will be permitted in the festival area. Location: North Port High School Stadium, 6400 W. Price Blvd.
Venice area fireworks are fired from the south Venice Jetty in the Venice Beach area and there are a number of good vantage points: anywhere along Venice Beach, Nokomis Beach, or from a boat on the Gulf of Mexico or anchored on the Intracoastal waterway, northeast of the Jetty on the water. Fireworks go up after sunset (8:30-9pm) on July 4th. Beach spectators are strongly advised to not bring their own fireworks due to the crowds. Arrive early as thousands line the beaches, jetty and surrounding waterways.
