John L. Seibel

September 18, 1923 - January 25, 2013

 John L. Seibel, 89, passed away on January 25 ,2013 following a brief illness. He was born September 18, 1923 in Sandusky, OH to John W. Seibel and Leah (Heeter) Seibel Hewitt. He graduated in 1941 from Sandusky High School. He served as a pharmacist's mate in the Pacific Theatre in the US Navy during World War II. He was employed in banking and finance for most of his career, most recently as President of Firelands Community Bank in Huron, OH. He retired in 1986 as Executive Director of the Firelands Chapter of the American Red Cross. He relocated to Englewood, FL after retirement, later moving to Venice, FL. He is survived by his wife of 17 years, Patricia (Duke) Seibel; daughters Barbara Seibel, Englewood, FL, Mary Risdon (Husband Robert), Vermilion, OH, Kathryn Kaplan (Husband Marvin), Sarasota, FL; sons John F. Seibel (Wife Kristinne), Marion, OH, and Robert Seibel (Wife Martha); brother Ralph Seibel (Wife Martha), West Chester, OH, 10 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley Jean (Foster) Seibel, grandson Robert Seibel, and sister Irene Johannsen.

 

Funeral Information

There will be a private graveside service for the family. Burial will be at Gulf Pines Memorial Park.

Donations Information

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Tidewell Hospice or the American Red Cross.
