On Friday, October 2, 2026, The Waverly restaurant filled up with laughter and stories as Pearl Fulton celebrated her 103rd birthday alongside her family, friends, and Pastor Scott from the Community Presbyterian Church in Englewood.

Her son, Paul Fulton, made the trip from Los Gatos, California, and her daughter Patrice Fulton-Peacock traveled from Grand Rapids, Michigan, just to be there.

Pearl landed in Englewood back in 1986, coming from Kalamazoo, Michigan. She still keeps a valid driver’s license; she wants everyone to know, even though she’s hung up the keys. When asked about her secret, Pearl says, “Attitude and Gratitude is the secret to life.”

Family and friends mean everything to Pearl. She calls them her “caretakers,” her support system. She felt it was important to mention Chris Nelson, her dear friend who, despite working as a nurse in town, makes time every week to take Pearl shopping or to appointments. That kind of friendship is truly special.
Here’s wishing Pearl a happy 103 years, from your Englewood neighbors, friends and family.
