DetailsLemon Bay Playhouse Presents “Flemming” For the fifth production of its 31st Season, the Lemon Bay Playhouse presents “Flemming”, written by Sam Bobrick and directed by Bob La Salle. The show opens on Wednesday, March 7 and run through Sunday, April 1, 2018. This comedy/mystery unfolds as follows: Bored by his privileged, but mundane life, Henry Flemming sells his lucrative brokerage firm to become a detective. On his very first case, and to the horror of his wife, Karen, and his two crazy neighbors, Suzy and Stan, the Flemming living room begins to fill up with dead bodies. Even though Henry keeps showing up at home every day more disheveled and beaten up, he couldn't be happier. Henry is convinced he's found his life's work and Westport, Connecticut is safer for it. Come see the excellent staging of this unpredictable comedy. The set designers and volunteer construction crew did a fantastic job on building a set on our small, by some standards, stage. It took a lot of thought and skill to pull off this wonderful show with the numerous entry ways to the stage that were required. “I managed to find a great cast and am very pleased with what we have accomplished.” said Mr. La Salle, “To do a quirky comedy like this is very difficult. The actors have to take it seriously and treat it as a straight mystery. The humor is written into the lines and the characters. Once they have the character, the humor takes care of itself. These people have all found their characters superbly as I’m sure you will notice.” You will not want to miss this rapidly selling out show.
