Family Garden Club Luncheon
Manasota Beach Club
7660 Manasota Beach Rd
The Family Garden Club of Englewood will hold their annual luncheon meeting at the Manasota Beach Club, which is located at 7660 Manasota Beach Road on Manasota Key. There will be a meet and greet at noon followed by a buffet luncheon at 12:30pm. This is an RSVP event and reservations must be made by January 8, 2019. Cost is $28 per person. Included is a buffet lunch and beverage (tea, coffee or lemonade) with tax and gratuity included. Alcoholic beverages are not available to be served as the club is a bottle club. However, guests can bring their own bottle. Our speakers will be two of the Board Members of the Bocilla Islands Conservancy. Making the presentation will be Barbara DeYulio, President and Ralph Artiglierer, Director. The talk will focus on the work the conservancy does and how it is dedicated to promoting green space on the Bocilla Islands Chain. Bocilla Islands Conservancy Inc. is a public, non-profit, non-political organization working in partnership with residents of the Bocilla Islands Chain: Don Pedro Island, Knight Island, Little Gasparilla Island and Thornton Key. The organization is dedicated to the long-term preservation of open, undeveloped space and natural habitat on the Bocilla Islands Chain. Bocilla Islands Conservancy Inc. has the ability to customize how a property becomes a conservation easement. Through the acquisition of land and conservation easements, sensitive habitat will be preserved and protected, helping to keep the island's ecosystem in balance. To find out more about the Bocilla Islands Conservancy visit their website at https://www.bocillaislandsconservancy.org/. Reservations will be required for this luncheon meeting and must be made by January 8, 2019. The reservation form was mailed to members. If you did not receive the form, or you are not a member and wish to attend, you may download it from the website www.fgcefl.com. Please complete the form and send it to Don, or bring it to the January 8 meeting, with payment. This is also a great opportunity to pay your 2019 membership dues. Add the amount to the form and bring or send a check with the total payment. As always, membership is not required to attend but membership does have some benefits that you may enjoy. As a member, you will be kept up to date on all of the events planned. You may also be part of the selection activity and planning of the events that we have. This includes the suggestion for speakers and field trips that are arranged. You may also attend the business meetings and be part of the process that chooses and votes on community projects that we participate in. Our membership ranges from the very inexperienced gardener, who has just moved to Florida, to the experienced long-time resident. You will also find that there is something for everyone at the meetings. Join today and start mastering gardening in Southwest Florida. Many more benefits of membership may be found on our website at www.fgcefl.com. We look forward to having you as a member of the Family Garden Club.
