PlaceAnn & Chuck Dever Regional Park
Address6791 San Casa Dr
DetailsThere will be an Emergency Communications demonstration by local Amateur Radio Operators on Saturday, April 24, 10am to noon. Stop by to see how they can provide county-wide and beyond communications in the event of a disaster. A portable emergency trailer will be set up near the main Pavilion in the Ann and Chuck Dever Park, 6791 San Casa Drive. You’ll be able to see how "Ham" radio operators can set up stations in the field that will provide voice calls and email messages locally and to other Hams across the rest of the county - without functional cell towers or internet services if there was a major county-wide disaster. This event is free and open to the public. This event is sponsored by the Charlotte and Englewood Amateur Radio Clubs.
