From now through Sunday, June 22, Lemon Bay Playhouse, 96 W. Dearborn Street, brings heart and humor to the stage with “Grace and Glorie”, a poignant dramedy by Tom Ziegler. Set in the Blue Ridge Mountains, the play follows Grace, a spirited 90-year-old cancer patient who chooses to return to her remote homestead rather than remain in the hospital. Enter Glorie, her volunteer hospice worker—a high-powered, grief-stricken New Yorker struggling to connect in this rural world. As these two strong-willed women clash and connect, both come to unexpected realizations about life, death, and healing. Performances run Wednesday through Friday at 7:30pm and Sunday matinees at 2pm. Tickets: $27 general, $20 students with valid ID. There is a benefit show for the Englewood Care Clinic on Saturday, June 21 at 2pm. Tickets are $30 and all proceeds go to the clinic.
