]]> A small plane went down near a runway in Upper Captiva early Saturday morning, with four people, reportedly a family, on board. They all walked away unharmed, despite the plane losing a wing as it crashed into the surrounding bushes.

John Lai, president of the Sanibel-Captiva Chamber of Commerce, confirmed the incident. Firefighters on the scene said that everyone involved was okay. The Lee County Sheriff’s Office has started an investigation.

]]> A boat crash in Lemon Bay near Stump Pass sent two people to the hospital Sunday afternoon. Three people were out on the water when their boat slammed into a piling. The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), along with Charlotte County deputies and firefighters, rushed to the scene. Emergency crews took two of the boaters to local hospitals. Right now, officials haven’t released their names or details about their injuries.
