Lemon Bay Garden Club hosted a pop-up horticulture show titled “Grow It to Show It” on March 13 & 14. Designed as a critique-only event, this special showing showcased the talents of both gardeners and craftswomen from across the club’s membership. The purpose of the event was to help members prepare for the potential of hosting an official National Garden Club Flower Show in the future.
Although not a judged competition, select exhibits received special recognition. Joan Tyrer was acknowledged for her exceptional Cut Exhibit, while Sue Killion was recognized for an outstanding Container Grown Exhibit.
Flower shows like this serve as more than exhibitions—they offer a unique and collaborative platform for floral designers, horticulturists, certified judges, and the public to share in the artistry and education of plant presentation. All evaluations in a formal show setting are based on standards outlined in The Handbook for Flower Shows, ensuring fair and knowledgeable critiques by trained judges.
The Lemon Bay Garden Club extends sincere thanks to everyone who helped prepare for, participated in, or visited the event. Your enthusiasm and contributions helped make the show a success.
