Monday Madness at EARS Thrift Store
Be a part of Monday Madness at EARS Animal Rescue Thrift Store’s new location at 353 W. Dearborn. Shop on a Monday and receive a ticket when you make a purchase for a chance to win a drawing of $25 in merchandise to be drawn on the last Monday of the month. The Thrift Store features clothing, accessories, jewelry and small household appliances. Donations of clean household items and clothing are greatly appreciated and remember, this is all for the Shelter animals at EARS Animal Rescue. EARS is a 501c3; ask for a donation slip. Volunteers are needed - pick your day and hours and come join EARS in their mission to rescue pets in need and find them forever homes. Hours: 10am -3pm, Monday through Saturday. Upcoming Pet Walk
Fundraise – Walk – Celebrate! In collaboration with Venice Main Street, join the Suncoast Humane Society on Saturday, December 9, 9am – 1pm, to celebrate pets and help the homeless animals in the community. The “Pet Walk Benefiting Homeless Animals” is sure to be a fun event happening in Centennial Park in Venice. Friendly pets welcome, but not required to participate. New Dog Park Workshop
Sarasota County will host a community workshop especially geared toward dog owners and area residents. The purpose of this workshop is to gather feedback on the draft concept plan for an enclosed, off-leash dog park at the 19-acre Bay Street Park, located at 300 E. Bay St., near U.S. 41 in Osprey. The community workshop will be held Thursday, Nov. 16 from 5:30-7 pm at Historic Spanish Point, 337 N. Tamiami Trail, Osprey. There will be display boards to view and staff present to discuss the proposed dog park and answer questions. Cat Depot is hosting Maddie’s Fund Professor of Shelter Medicine, Dr. Julie Levy and Adjunct Lecturer Dr. Sarah Kirk, for a free seminar “What Shelter Cats and Dogs Want You to Know: A Day of Learning with Dr. Julie Levy and Dr. Sarah Kirk. The seminar will be held at Cat Depot in Sarasota on Wednesday, Nov. 15 from 9:30am – 2:30pm. The seminar is open to animal medical & rescue professionals as well as those interested in learning more about working in an animal shelter.
