AMVETS Ladies Auxiliary
AMVETS 777 Ladies Auxiliary Englewood will have its monthly meeting on Monday, December 9 at 5:30pm at the Post located at 3386 N. Access Rd. The Post encourages membership to those interested in making new friends and working towards helping Veterans in the area who are less fortunate and need assistance. Toastmasters Open House
The Englewood Toastmasters Club is holding an Open House at 6:30pm, Thursday, December 12 at their new meeting location, the Englewood Chamber of Commerce at 601 S. Indiana Avenue. The theme for the evening is: Get a Head Start on Your 2020 New Year’s Resolution! Learn how to overcome your fear of public speaking, enhance your leadership skills, acquire communication skills and gain self-confidence in your personal & professional life.! The Englewood TM Club meets on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of each month at 6:30pm. RSVP by December 6 to Mary Leadbetter 697•1352.  

Monitoring & Mapping Red Tide
The Family Garden Club of Englewood will hold their next meeting on Tuesday, December 10, 10am, at the Elsie Quirk Library, 100 W. Dearborn St. The speaker will be Kate Hubbard, of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation, who will talk about “Monitoring and Mapping Red Tide.” Hubbard has a Ph.D. in Biological Oceanography and is a research scientist with Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission. A coffee social will follow this meeting where gardening questions can be answered. The public is welcome to attend. Check out the website at fgcefl.com.

RWWC Monthly Meeting
The GFWC Rotonda West Woman’s Club will hold its monthly meeting on Thurs. December 12 at the Rotonda West Community Center, 646 Rotonda Circle, at Broadmoor Park. Social time begins at 9am followed by meeting at 10am. This month the focus is on fun. The Tonettes will entertain with Christmas songs and a skit will be performed by members of the Club. The Club encourages membership to those interested in making new friends and working toward the betterment of the community and for those less fortunate. Membership is not exclusive to Rotonda West residents and guests are always welcome.

Breakfast at the Elks
Come enjoy a delicious Sunday breakfast at the Englewood Elks at a reasonable price. The all you can eat menu includes eggs cooked to order plus bacon, sausage, ham, toast, French toast, breakfast potatoes, biscuits & gravy and grits. Coffee & tea are included. All for $7.95. Breakfast is served 8am to noon Sundays at the lodge at 401 N. Indiana Avenue.

Looking for new members! I am building an OPTIMIST CLUB for the Englewood, Rotonda West and South Gulf Cove areas. We've been having informational weekly meetings at Beyond the Sea on Tuesday mornings. On July 28, 2016, we will host Optimist International Director, Jim Boyd as our guest speaker for a Happy Hour meeting at Zydeco Grill 8501 Placida Rd. from 5 to 6:30 PM.
