Wine & Swine a Success!
The Rotary Club of Englewood’s Wine & Swine Water Safety Awareness fundraiser was a sold-out success on September 7th. Guests enjoyed an evening of fun beginning with a barnyard buffet. Special guest speaker, Blake Collingsworth, delivered a powerful message about preventing childhood drowning and speaker Janet Shawen shared her personal story involving a childhood drowning. A Paul Harris Fellowship award was presented to David Stefanini of the Charlotte County Sheriff’s office. A wine toss, chance auction and live auction were part of the activities before the guests took to the dance floor with music by Tropical Avenue. Over $26,000 was raised for the Josh the Otter Water Safety Awareness campaign to reduce childhood drowning through actions such as presenting young children with “Josh the Otter” books about water safety and swim lessons through the YMCA.
