6/9/2021 4:40:00 PM Charlotte County Honors Pandemic Volunteers
On May 25, Charlotte County celebrated their Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) volunteers and nurses who have worked thousands of hours at the vaccination sites helping with vaccinations, data entry, traffic control, and patient monitoring. A special thank you to Lynne and Brad from Emergency Management for all their hard work in making this a success. CERT’s mission: Doing the most good for the most people. The Charlotte CERT program has a role for everyone. Members use a combination of CERT training and community knowledge to serve their neighbors in a time of disaster. Charlotte County has over 400 CERT members that serve the community during a disaster as shelter workers, call center operators, and as a support role during wildfires. CERT members learn to assist others in their neighborhood or workplace following an event when professional responders are not immediately available to help.
