Chamber Volunteer Gives Back More Than Just Her Time

If you stop by the Englewood Chamber of Commerce Visitors Center on Monday mornings, you have probably chatted with longtime volunteer, Judie Millspaugh. She has been greeting visitors for 13 years at the Chamber. Judie enjoys her time as an ambassador for the Chamber and is happy to recommend business members for anything from restaurants, yard work, to a plumber or her favorite shoe shop on Dearborn. She has many stories to tell and opinions to give. Judie, who is in her 80s, recently went parasailing with her daughter who was visiting from Switzerland.
She has a passion for animals and recently donated $1,000 each to Peace River K-9 Search and Rescue and to the Englewood Animal Rescue Sanctuary (EARS), both Chamber members. Judie said, “I am proud of the work the Englewood Chamber does to promote and help our local non-profits and I believe in giving back to the community. Not only with my time but with money. Every bit helps and I am happy to support these two great local non-profits.” Peace River K-9 has dogs that were adopted from EARS and trained to become search dogs. That connection was another reason Judie wanted to support both organizations.
Anyone looking to volunteer at the Chamber can come in and fill out an application. Morning or afternoon four-hour shifts are available. The Chamber is located at 601 S. Indiana Avenue. For more information, call 474•5511. Stop by and see Judie on Monday mornings. She always has a smile on her face and a tale to tell!
