The renovated and updated Pioneer Plaza (formerly known as Pioneer Park and Dearborn Street Plaza) was dedicated on May 20th and is now open for the public to enjoy. Members of the public, along with Sarasota County commissioners and the Englewood CRA, were there for the ribbon-cutting and celebration. The Dignam family of Englewood was honored with the new permanent bandshell being named the Dignam Family Stage for their generous donation of $100,000 towards the renovation project. The stage will be available for use by non-profit groups for fundraisers and activities (contact the Englewood CRA for more information at 941•473•9795.) In addition, the Pioneer Plaza, 325 W. Dearborn Street, features new permanent restrooms, landscaping, and walkways. The Farmers Market will move back there when it resumes in October. Watch for upcoming musical events scheduled throughout the summer. The Green Street parking lot at 348 W. Green Street is conveniently located for your use.
