Englewood Sailing held a 20 Year Anniversary Party for their membership and friends recently at their Sailing Center at Indian Mound Park. Starting 20 years ago with just 12 small sailboats kept in a member’s backyard, to a fleet of 45 boats at their sailing center today, the club has seen steady, continuous growth over the years. ESA has taught 1,500 youths and at least 500 adults to sail in those 20 years. It is an all-volunteer, not for profit group whose mission is to teach the sport of sailing to youth and now to adults as well. Family Memberships are only $25 a year, with classes offered for various age groups. For more information, go to their website at www.englewoodsailing.org. Cutting the ribbon launching 20 more years of teaching sailing at ESA is CH Ritt, President and from left to right: Connor Miles, Ella Diaz, Kate McCarthy, Vivian Konrardy, CH Ritt, Paulo Ramos, Michaela Fijas, Connor Fijas, and Doug Izzo, Chamber of Commerce CEO.
