Winter Fine Arts Festival coming to Dearborn St.

The Olde Englewood Village Association will once again hold their Winter Fine Arts Festival.  This year the event will be held on Dec 1 & 2, 10am-4pm. It will be held on historic W. Dearborn St in the heart of Olde Englewood Village.  This annual, well-attended, event is a juried show.  Over 100 artists will participate, displaying and selling their beautiful works in seven different mediums including jewelry, painting, sculpture, photography, glass, mixed media and pottery/ceramics.  For promotion of the event, Marie LaForge, local artist and owner of Mango Bistro, has once again created another unique painting, pictured. Historic Dearborn St will be blocked off to vehicle traffic and will become a “pedestrian only” exhibition area.  The street features unique shops and an abundance of wonderful bistros and restaurants.  Shoppers have found this festival to be a perfect opportunity to purchase select gifts for holiday giving. A larger crowd than usual crowd is expected as the show is being held the same weekend as the Vietnam Memorial Traveling Wall, which will bring many to Dearborn St.  Event sponsors to-date are The Art Alliance of Lemon Bay, Beach Cottage, Lasbury Tracy Realty, Mary Tracy Plans, The Open Studio, Terra Nichol Academy.  There is as $1 donation requested at the gate, and proceeds of the event benefit Englewood community charities.
