Art Center Sarasota hosts acclaimed artist Joan Fullerton

Through April, Art Center Sarasota hosts acclaimed artists from around the nation to lead three-day immersive destination workshops. These workshops invite participants to express their creativity while improving technical skills. Workshops feature watercolor and acrylic painting, collage, mixed-media, and more. On January 10-12, 10am-4pm, Joan Fullerton presents Mixed Media Painting. Explore new paint delivery systems for the purpose of creating random marks and shapes. January 13-15, 10am-4pm, Fullerton offers Intuitive Abstract Landscape Painting. Learn how to coax hints of reality from an abstract background or start with the inspiration of a place and abstract it to reveal more emotional essence. For the rest of the schedule, more information and cost, visit www.artsarasota.org or call 941•365•2032. While most of these workshops are in-person at the Art Center, 707 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota, each offers a two-hour artist demonstration via Zoom prior to the session. For in-person sessions, students will be asked to provide proof of a negative PCR or Rapid COVID test (within 48 hours of class) or proof of vaccination prior to attending a workshop. Masks are required. Space is limited. Scholarships are available. Photo: Joan Fullerton.
