11/25/2022 11:08:00 AM New Ian Mural on Dearborn St.
Stop by Pioneer Plaza (325 W. Dearborn Street) to view and comment on a new mural on the wall of Vintage Rehab. Created by Englewood artist Robert Casler, the mural is for everyone whose lives were affected by Hurricane Ian on September 28th. Robert used bent sheet metal from a building that was destroyed on his property and pieces of his neighbor’s fence. He intended this to represent the homes that were torn apart and the heaps of debris that line the streets. The crudely painted lettering reflects the hand painted signs that many people put on their boarded windows and discarded items. Viewing the devastation and having so many neighbors without a home can cause your heart to grow heavy with despair. Robert encourages you to continue to assist each other. Even if all you can give is a smile or a kind deed: “Together We Shall Overcome!” If you would like to show your support, please sign the wood sections of the frame or fence panels. Please do not write on painted mural. The mural will be auctioned off at https://www.ebay.com/usr/renovereart starting on Thursday, December 1st to help raise funds for relief.
