Congratulations to Lickity Split Café for receiving a national award through 1-800-FLOWERS. They were honored to receive the 2022 Mother’s Day Top Performance Award from Fruit Bouquets & Shari’s Berries, a partner company with 1-800-FLOWERS. Lickity Split Café was approached by the company four years ago to work with them for this area, and they are an awesome company to work with as they let the Lickity Split team not only do their designs, but they have the ability and freedom to create for their local customers. The staff underwent training by the company and serve a 30-mile radius around the Englewood area. The fruit used is hand selected by staff members and the fruits are cut, organized, and arranged into fruit bouquets or delicious chocolate dipped & decorated strawberries. The beautiful edible bouquet is delivered fresh to the recipient or can be picked up right at Lickity Split Café. The bouquets can be customized for any occasion and can be paired with a gift certificate for birthdays, anniversaries, thank-you, get well, hostess gifts, and centerpieces for card parties, etc. Pick your selection from an album of examples or have the staff come up with an original bouquet using your fruit favorites.
Lickity Split Café has been an Englewood and snowbird customer favorite for over 25 years. Owners Laura Brenneman and her mother, Carol Brenneman, have turned the small ice cream shop into a favorite destination for handmade soups and sandwiches, hand cut fries and spuds (homemade potato chips.) They also make 32 flavors of their own ice cream and offer all the traditional flavors, including some fun customer favorites with amusing names, such as junkyard, cookie monster, heart & soul, chocolate therapy, manatee poop, and shark attack. Needless to say, young & old get a kick out of some of these unique flavors created right at Lickity Split, not to mention some cool sundae favorites.
Located in Tiffany Square at 2828 S. McCall Road, Suite 5, Lickity Split Café is decorated in retro fashion with autographed celebrity portraits lining the walls. Ask Laura about taking a dance class with Dickie Smothers, one of her favorite memories, at The Ballroom of Sarasota. The staff at Lickity Split are friendly and develop a relationship over time with their regular customers. Think of the line from the theme song for the TV show, Cheers: “Where you are always glad you came.”
Stop by to visit them for lunch or dinner, a delicious home-made ice cream treat, or order one of their beautiful fruit bouquets. Follow them on Facebook at www.facebook.com/lickitysplitcafeenglewood. Phone: 941•474•2185.
