The Englewood Men's Senior Softball league has finished its regular season and the championship winners this year are Legends, Xpertech Auto Repair and New Faull Inn. By practicing COVID protection protocols, the guys were able to play all scheduled games. League Commissioner Mark Johnson stated, “At the start of the year, we really didn’t think we’d get nearly 300 guys playing softball at the height of this pandemic and be able to get all the games in. But hats off, that what we did!” This year saw the Legends of the Bronze division repeat as champions, Xpertech Auto Repair of the Silver division won their first championship with a record setting season, and New Faull Inn of the Gold division won their second championship in three years. The Spring season kicks off with the first games on April 7. For those of you who will be 60 or over in 2022, or those who are age eligible already and want to join the fun, open practices are usually held 8:30am every Monday, Wednesday and Friday, April through December, at the Englewood Sports Complex, 1300 S. River Road. Those new to the league and interested in playing can register at the league’s website: www.englewoodseniorsoftball.weebly.com.
