The Business and Professional Women of Englewood and Venice are proud to announce the distinguished Woman of the Year Award 2021 was granted to Esther Bird for her commitment to the support of women, women’s rights, and the organization. Bird has served on several committees for special events and scholarships, organized and led a holiday giving event for seniors, served as Vice President this year, and when the call to action came, without hesitation, she moved into the role as President of the organization. Her unwavering commitment to women and the organization is both commendable and inspiring.
Also honored at the meeting was long-time member, Karin Drury. Karin first joined BPW in 1971 to learn about business and to support women; as an immigrant woman, she found not only a group of dedicated, compassionate women supporting other women, but also a forum that helped her further develop important life skills such as public speaking and presentation, public relations, event planning and a variety of experiences serving both the organization and community. Karin has been an integral member of BPWEV; her support, caring and kind nature has helped many women over the course of several decades.
