Woman's Club Civic Engagement Program announces new partnership

At the Thursday, April 21st General Meeting, the GFWC Rotonda West Woman’s Club Civic Engagement Program rolled out their new partnership with the Guardian ad Litem Foundation of the 20th Judicial District. The Guardian ad Litem (GAL) Program is a statewide child advocacy program commissioned by statute to represent the best interests of abused, neglected, or abandoned children who have been removed from their homes, due to no fault of their own, and placed under court supervision. Two GAL Ambassadors attended the meeting to provide insight to the GAL, and they received their first quarterly donation of Bedtime Bags to be given to children as they enter foster care. The colorful, hand-made, draw-string bags contain age and size appropriate pajamas, hygiene items, a book, and a comfort toy. Club members provided or hand-made all the items. Pictured with Club members are Barbara Berman, who serves as Vice President of the Foundation, and Advocate Nancy Suarez.
