3/1/2023 12:06:00 PM Englewood Shell Club Shares Passion for Seashells
For 27 years, Englewood Shell Club has been sharing their passion for seashells of all kinds with the Englewood community. As part of Lemon Bay Fest, they presented a talk, “Shell 101,” to over 40 people at the Elsie Quirk Library, hosted by the Friends of Elsie Quirk Library. The program was filled with seashell basics, accompanied by the seashell photography of ESC co-president Meredith Blain (shown here). Blain’s photos have been featured in many local publications. Helping to field audience questions was ESC charter member Linda Powers, who shared specifics on the best shelling times and mollusk life cycles. Other club members had display tables filled with displays of specimen shells, shell art, seashell fossils & shark teeth. Co-president Martha Dehne designed the shell display in the library curio cabinet.
