Iris Winifred O’Brien, 96 of Rotonda West, FL passed away on Sunday, March 28, 2021. She was born on December 2, 1924 in Loughborough, United Kingdom to Clarence J. and Beatrice (Spencer) Clarke. Mrs. O’Brien moved to Florida in 1998 from St. Louis, MO. She was a member of Englewood United Methodist Church. Her hobbies included crocheting, knitting, baking, playing bridge and mahjong. Iris was preceded in death by her parents and her husband Herbert. She is survived by her children: Carol Sanderson, Jane Crawford, Penelope Hurt, Ian Oakes, Keith Oakes and Stephan Oakes. Step children Virginia Copestake and Alec O’Brien. Iris also has 20 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren. A Memorial Service will be held on Thursday, April 8, 2021at 2:00 PM at Englewood Community Funeral Home Inc. 3070 S. McCall Rd. Englewood.
