Dr. Leonard Joseph Drazek, age 90, of Englewood Florida, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 in the hospice unit at Venice Regional Bayfront Hospital surrounded by his loving family. Leonard was born January 4, 1931 in Wilmington, Delaware. He was the third child of the late Joseph Drazek and Frances Lisicki Drazek. After graduating from Salesianum High School, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Delaware, and then earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Pennsylvania. As part of his dental internship program, he served in the United States Air Force and was promoted to the rank of Captain. Leonard continued his education to become an Orthodontist and opened his practice in Delaware. He married the love of his life, Elizabeth (BJ) in 1957 and was blessed with four daughters and two sons. His greatest joys were his family, his church, living on Meadowset Farm in Landenberg and being near the water. Leonard was predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Jane Kaiser Drazek, and two of his daughters, Elizabeth Ann Drazek and Mary Madeleine Hellhake, his brothers, Joseph Drazek and Frank Drazek, his sister Florence Marshall. He is survived by his daughters Deborah Boxler (John) of Landenberg, PA, Caroline Drazek of Odessa, FL, and his sons Mark Drazek (Tina) of Orlando, FL and Luke Drazek (Julie) of Englewood, FL.; 10 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews.
Memorial services will be held at a later date in Englewood, FL and in Delaware. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Dr. Leonard Drazek to Tidewell Foundation at 5955 Rand Blvd., Sarasota 34238.
