National Wreaths Across America Day

 

 

National Wreaths Across America Day is Saturday, December 14 and here locally, volunteers will place a holiday wreath on veteran graves in Lemon Bay Historical Cemetery, 500 S. Indiana Avenue, and at Gulf Pines Memorial Park, 2401 Englewood Road. The public is welcome to attend the wreath laying ceremony at 10am at Gulf Pines. For those who have had someone in their family who served in the U.S. Military, there will be an opportunity to come forward to the podium and ring the VFW Remembrance Bell. Please consider a donation of $17 to sponsor the cost of one wreath to be laid. Donations can be made online at wreathsacrossamerica.org/pages/46940/overview, dropped off at the Englewood Chamber of Commerce, 601 S. Indiana Avenue or at Gulf Pines Memorial Park. Make checks payable to Wreaths Across America, indicate which cemetery you would like your wreath placed and mail to Gulf Pines Memorial Park, 2401 Englewood Road, Englewood, FL 34223. You can also choose a wreath to be placed at the Vietnam Memorial Wall in Punta Gorda. For questions, call 941•474•2413.
