Kayla Williams opens the Lighter Fare Series

Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota opens its 29th season, “Talent Unveiled”, with a concert in the popular Sunday Best series on Sunday, September 22, 4pm, at First Presbyterian Church, 2050 Oak Street, Sarasota. “September Serenade”, with violist Milena Pajaro-van de Stadt, clarinetist Bharat Chandra, and pianist Natalie Nedvetsky, features trios by Mozart, Bruch, and Robert Schumann, and an arrangement of Prokofiev’s “Romeo and Juliet for viola and piano”. Tickets are $43 for general seating and $63 for VIP seating (includes post-concert reception with the artists).
The new Top Shelf Tuesdays series features international superstars, and the first concert is Tuesday, October 8, 7:30pm, at Church of the Palms, 3224 Bee Ridge Road, Sarasota. “French Connection” (French-born violinist Arnaud Sussmann and pianist Michael Stephen Brown) present a concert of French music including sonatas by Debussy and Saint-Saëns. Tickets are $43 for general seating and $63 for VIP seating.
“From Bach to Bluegrass” opens the Lighter Fare series on Tuesday, October 15 at the Plantation Golf & Country Club, 500 Rockley Blvd., Venice. Violist Kayla Williams’ genre-crossing concert includes instrumental and vocal music with jazz pianist Chris McCarthy. The 5:30pm performance is followed by dinner. Tickets $78.
Principal violist Stephanie Block and cellist Nicholas Mariscal join forces with Clare Longendyke, a celebrated pianist, for “Rhapsodies”, the first concert in the Soirée series, at the Fischer/Weisenborne residence (7459 Cabbage Palm Ct., Sarasota) at 4pm on Sunday & Monday, October 20 and 21.
