Soundbox Ventures presents “Improvising Mozart”

Soundbox Ventures presents “Improvising Mozart” with violinist Max Tan and pianist David Kaplan, the second performance of its 2024-2025 “Listen Hear” salon concert series, on Tuesday, February 25, 7 pm, at St. Boniface Episcopal Church, 5615 Midnight Pass Road, Siesta Key. Blending music, conversation, and comedy, Tan and Kaplan will perform four Mozart violin sonatas, incorporating improvisation both within and beyond Mozart’s scores. The program culminates with Mozart’s newly discovered “Fantasia,” improvised live by Kaplan. Both musicians will take on the role of composer, offering a guided tour through improvisation and reinvention while engaging the audience in dialogue about their process.
