Stephen E. Hemphill, 73, passed away on February 17, 2025, in
Englewood, Florida.
Born on August 27, 1951, in Voorhees, New Jersey, Stephen dedicated much of his life to public service. He served with distinction as a sergeant in the New Jersey State Troopers, retiring in 2000 after 29 years of committed service. His career was marked by dedication and integrity, leaving a lasting impact on those he worked alongside.
Following his retirement, Stephen relocated to Florida, where he embraced his passions for computer electronics and cooking. Whether experimenting with new recipes or working on electronic projects, he found joy in learning and creating.
Stephen is survived by his loving partner, Marlene Thomason; his four siblings, Amy, Holly, Susan, and Andrew; his two sons; and four grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife Linda Hemphill (Porter).
A memorial gathering will be held on March 2, 2025, in
Englewood, Florida. The gathering will be private for family and friends.
Stephen’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew him.
