Sarasota, FL (November 6, 2025) — Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties will celebrate the extraordinary legacy of Charles and Margery Barancik at its 2025 Champions for Children gala on November 22. The event will take place at The Ora, marking an exciting new chapter for the organization’s signature fundraiser.

The late couple’s impact continues through the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, whose support has created lasting opportunities for local youth. The Baranciks were passionate champions of the Club’s mission, investing deeply in education and empowerment for young people. Their contributions helped establish new Club locations, expand programs into DeSoto County, and fund critical operational and staffing initiatives.

“The Baranciks’ vision and generosity have shaped nearly every facet of our organization’s growth,” said a representative of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties. “Their legacy is not just in the buildings they helped create, but in the thousands of young lives they continue to uplift.”

The gala will include a reception, a three-course dinner catered by Michael’s on East, live and silent auctions, and performances by Boys & Girls Club members. Proceeds will support programs that foster academic success, leadership, healthy lifestyles, and career readiness for youth across both counties.

Individual tickets are $400, with sponsorships available at bgcsdc.org/events. For more information, contact Valerie Quigley, Community Engagement Manager, at 941-366-3911.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties will honor the legacy of Charles and Margery Barancik at the 2025 Champions for Children Gala on November 22 at The Ora, a new venue for the annual event.

The late couple’s decades-long dedication to youth empowerment continues through the Charles & Margery Barancik Foundation, which supports initiatives that give children and teens access to education and opportunity. Their philanthropy has strengthened after-hours programs, operations, and staffing, leaving a lasting mark on nearly every part of the Boys & Girls Clubs’ mission.

The gala will include a reception, gourmet dinner catered by Michael’s on East, live and silent auctions, and performances by Club members. Proceeds will benefit programs that promote academic success, leadership, healthy lifestyles, and career readiness for youth across Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.
