(November 6, 2025) Englewood Elementary School recently welcomed Doug Izzo, executive director of the Englewood Chamber of Commerce, as part of Sarasota County Schools’ CEO in Schools Initiative. Izzo spent the day shadowing Principal Idoyaga to gain firsthand insight into the school’s dynamic learning environment. His visit included making pinch pots with kindergartners in art class and exploring 3D printing with fourth graders in the science lab, reflecting the school’s focus on creativity and hands-on learning.

The initiative strengthens community-school connections by bringing local leaders into classrooms to experience the daily activities that shape students’ education. Englewood Elementary’s participation demonstrates its commitment to collaboration and innovation in public education. Residents can follow EnglewoodSCS on Facebook for more stories about community partnerships that support local schools.
