Today’s the day we roll back the clocks. Daylight Saving Time ended at 2:00 a.m. this morning, Sunday, November 1, 2026. Hopefully, you slept right through it and woke up with a bonus hour.

Florida’s still following the Daylight-Saving Time routine. Even though lawmakers passed the Sunshine Protection Act back in 2018 to keep the state on daylight time year-round, Washington hasn’t signed off. Until Congress and the president give their approval, Florida sticks with the clock changes, just like almost 20 other states waiting for the same thing. Sometimes, the bills move a little in Congress but always seem to stall in the Senate. So here we are, springing forward and falling back again.

Here’s how the clock changes played out in Florida for 2026:

• “Spring forward” happened on Sunday, March 8, when clocks jumped ahead an hour at 2:00 a.m.
• “Fall back” lands today, November 1: clocks slid back an hour at 2:00 a.m., so we’re now on standard time until spring.

Switching the clocks messes with many people’s routines. If you struggle with the transition, a few things can help smooth it out:

Stick to your regular wake-up time on Sunday, even though you’ll want to sleep in. It helps your body adjust quicker.

Better yet, ease into the change by pushing your bedtime, meals, and naps about 15 or 20 minutes later for a few days before the switch.

Get outside in the morning or early afternoon; a dose of sunlight helps reset your body’s clock.

At night, keep your lights low and your screens off, especially during the hour before bed.

Skip caffeine for four to six hours before you turn in, and take it easy with alcohol in the evening.

Remember, it’ll be darker earlier when you’re out driving, so slow down and watch for people crossing the street.

If you need a nap, keep it short, 20 minutes or less, so you don’t throw off your night’s sleep.

A few minor adjustments, and the new schedule will feel normal pretty quickly.
