A federal superseding indictment names Ivel Sanchez Rivera, 52, and Osmani Barrios Carrera, 37, both of Hialeah, along with Miami residents Yunior Lopez Delgado, 42, and Alberto Perez Elias, 57. The men face multiple severe federal counts, including conspiracy to interfere with commerce by robbery, interference with commerce by robbery, and using, carrying, and brandishing a firearm during a crime of violence. 

The robbery took place on January 6, 2026, at Tio Jewelers in Cape Coral. According to investigators, the crew first broke into a vacant business directly next to the jewelry store. Once inside the empty storefront, they breached the shared wall to gain entry into Tio Jewelers. After entering the store, the suspects held the store manager at gunpoint, forcing access to the business safe. The thieves made off with thousands of pieces of jewelry before fleeing the scene and traveling back to the Miami area. 

Following an intense multi-agency investigation, law enforcement officers tracked down and arrested Rivera, Carrera, and Delgado. However, the fourth suspect, Elias, evaded capture and remains at large. 

If convicted on the robbery and conspiracy charges, each defendant faces a maximum penalty of 20 years in federal prison. They face a mandatory consecutive seven-year sentence for brandishing a firearm during the commission of a violent crime, which they would add to any base prison term.
