<p class="wp-block-paragraph">As the great Frankie Valli once sang, “Oh, What a Night!” On Friday, August 28, 2026, Englewood’s VFW Post 10178 turned into a full-on disco wonderland for the annual “Mayor 4 a Day Disco Party.”&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/VFW-Officers-friends-welcoming-partygoers-for-Mayor-4-a-Day.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-244177"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><strong>VFW Officers &amp; friends welcoming partygoers for Mayor 4 a Day.</strong><br><strong>(From left) Danny Fuson, Commander, Stacey Cole, Vickie Cole, Glen Runstadler, Auxiliary President, John Dipasquale, Quartermaster</strong> <strong><em>Courtesy Karla Keeton</em></strong></figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">From 6 to 8 p.m., every corner of 550 N. McCall Road buzzed with energy. All five of this year’s honorary mayor candidates showed up in style, each raising cash for their favorite local charities and sharing the spotlight and the 50/50 raffle. It’s the spirit of Pioneer Days: everyone comes together, has a blast, and lifts the community.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Co-event-planners-raising-funds-for-the-firehouse.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-244178" srcset="https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Co-event-planners-raising-funds-for-the-firehouse.jpeg 640w, https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Co-event-planners-raising-funds-for-the-firehouse-300x225.jpeg 300w" sizes="(max-width: 640px) 100vw, 640px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><strong>Co-event planners raising funds for the firehouse. <p class="wp-block-paragraph">People danced to classic ‘70s hits, belted out karaoke, and cheered on the comedian. Food trucks parked outside kept everyone fueled, and the entire event tied neatly into Englewood’s beloved 70th Pioneer Days theme.&nbsp;</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Committee-Members-From-L-Mary-Jones-Laura-Roy-Amy-Gonzales-and-Michael-Dalke-Courtesy-Karla-Keeton.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-244179"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><strong>Committee Members:</strong> <strong>(From L) Mary Jones, Laura Roy, Amy Gonzales and Michael Dalke</strong> <strong><em>Courtesy Karla Keeton</em></strong></figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">A special shout-out to EPIC Community Resource Center, which handed each candidate $250 for their nonprofit. That’s the community spirit that makes you want to hit the dance floor.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Neighbors-Beer-Wine-owners-Rich-Harvey-and-Linda-Bermea-came-out-to-donate-and-get-their-Disco-on.-Courtesy-Karla-Keeton.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-244212"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><strong>Neighbor’s Beer &amp; Wine owners, Rich Harvey and Linda Bermea came out to donate and get their Disco on.</strong> <strong><em>Courtesy Karla Keeton</em></strong></figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Now, the big question: who gets to claim the title of “Mayor 4 a Day?” Englewood turns even local elections into a party, so stick around, and you’ll find out who takes home the (disco) crown.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-full"><img loading="lazy" decoding="async" width="640" height="480" src="https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/08/Mark-and-Julie-Rennie-with-Todd-Dunn-Public-Information-Officer-for-the-Englewood-Fire-Dept.-step-up-for-a-night-of-Disco-fever-to-support-the-many-worthy-causes.-Courtesy-Karla-Keeton.jpeg" alt="" class="wp-image-244213"/><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><strong>Mark and Julie Rennie, with Todd Dunn, Public Information Officer for the Englewood Fire Dept., step up for a night of Disco fever to support the many worthy causes.</strong> <strong><em>Courtesy Karla Keeton</em></strong></figcaption></figure>
