<p class="wp-block-paragraph">The Cape Coral Fire Department wants to make sure kids stay safe on their way to school or the bus stop, especially in the early morning when it’s still dark. They’re handing out free red LED backpack flashers at every one of their 13 stations and at Fire Headquarters. Clip the flasher onto your child’s backpack and drivers will spot them more easily, even if they’re wearing dark clothes or carrying a black bag.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Andrea Schuch, the department’s Public Information Specialist, put it simply: “We want those kids who are traversing the roadways to be seen by the drivers. These backpack flashers make them more visible, especially if the kids are wearing a dark bag or clothes.”</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you want one, just stop by any Cape Coral fire station or Fire Headquarters:</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">It’s a simple step that can make the morning a lot safer for your kids.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">If you would like to purchase your own affordable LED safety light for your child, <a href="https://www.amazon.com/Safety-Lights-Clip-Flashing-Strobe/dp/B081GSL6SM/ref=sr_1_2_sspa?channelId=500&amp;clpRedir=Y&amp;dib=eyJ2IjoiMSJ9.cwJAEBnI2QmtKeJf4AcosYqFlJSBenFERlmf6mFydjkz1l_H0TpCopbLOyb9wWx4Xr4qhFaTtmYqx3CAvTYlbt_-Td6oHfqE-ewPbzRp2a7vXq24H23y7bayuhgntj-RPQn0G8X1eaHU4MO7NbdTyMJ4xys7i07p-d4q_YAdi4jXmGN5xsQ1GmMb5ASAOiaqNOFmM-7HRo5a5g-sZnszgW38JnF-BePcBqcJCHnaVzEbKrfB2qZkNURlRCdao0LpsqgekR9n0EInrwNnjq-rTjlSwNGAq2n3mU5NctHeE0c.mGHUD5noj4KAns-t8tbi7fRk-iKGtoSjPI-8oJCU9oU&amp;dib_tag=se&amp;keywords=led+lights+for+backpack&amp;plpRedirect=mhFallback&amp;qid=1786721239&amp;sr=8-2-spons&amp;sp_csd=d2lkZ2V0TmFtZT1zcF9hdGY&amp;psc=1" target="_blank" rel="noreferrer noopener">click here for an Amazon link.</a></p>
