Jane Goodall once said, “We’re not, after all, separate from the animal kingdom. We’re part of it.” That idea pulses through every inch of The Fandango Sanctuary.

Picture a single mother, looking for hope and purpose, finding both by building a shelter where rescued animals feel safe, literally setting fence posts into the earth herself. This place, The Fandango Sanctuary, didn’t appear overnight and certainly not because of a check from some big corporation. Instead, Iris and Ernst Pisko stitched it together with nothing but sheer willpower, hard work, and fierce love.

Walk through the gates now, and you’ll hear goats gossiping, horses leaning in with those big, curious eyes, and Henrietta, the donkey, sneaking up to munch on your keys, just for a laugh. There’s peace here, real and rare.

But the work hasn’t stopped. To keep these animals safe during the next hurricane, the sanctuary has set its sights on building a concrete barn. Not a luxury, but essential. When storms hit, that sturdy barn could mean life or death for every pig, donkey, horse, and goat under their care.

You don’t have to stand on the sidelines. Here’s how you can make a difference right now:

– Visit: Book a tour. Come and experience the sanctuary’s calm for yourself.
– Sponsor: Pick a resident, like Henrietta, and help cover their care.
– Donate: Every dollar helps make that hurricane-safe barn a reality.
– Share: Tell fellow animal lovers. Word of mouth does wonders.

Let’s keep building hope, fence post by fence post. Read more about their incredible journey, about perseverance, grit, and love that stretches far beyond species.
