Manasota Key’s nearby beaches are famous for seashells and fossil shark teeth, plus wildlife, restaurants, and wide stretches of white sand. If you want to stay active, there’s no shortage of golf courses, parks, or walking trails.

Florida dominates lists of best retirement spots for good reason. Besides endless sunshine, the state helps your wallet. There’s no state income tax, which means retirees keep more of their Social Security, pensions, and investment income. People over 65 can get property tax breaks, depending on their circumstances.
