<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Cape Coral’s new 250-foot flagpole now stands tall, just in time for America’s 250th birthday. After months of community fundraising, people came together and got it done.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Michael Ilczyszyn, the city manager who led the project, called it a day of celebration, a big deal for a city proud of its patriotic spirit.</p>

<figure class="wp-block-image size-large"><img fetchpriority="high" decoding="async" width="1024" height="561" src="https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Cape-Corals-new-flagpole-getting-ready-to-stand-tall-1024x561.png" alt="" class="wp-image-204824" srcset="https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Cape-Corals-new-flagpole-getting-ready-to-stand-tall-1024x561.png 1024w, https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Cape-Corals-new-flagpole-getting-ready-to-stand-tall-300x164.png 300w, https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Cape-Corals-new-flagpole-getting-ready-to-stand-tall-768x421.png 768w, https://englewoodreview.com/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/Cape-Corals-new-flagpole-getting-ready-to-stand-tall.png 1346w" sizes="(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px" /><figcaption class="wp-element-caption"><strong>Cape Coral&#8217;s new flagpole getting ready to stand tall.</strong></figcaption></figure>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Some residents even pulled over just to watch the flagpole go up. You could see the excitement on their faces.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Of course, it wasn’t all smooth sailing. There were hurdles and a few public concerns along the way. Ilczyszyn kicked things off back in November, asking for half a million dollars in donations. As of now, the city’s website shows they’ve gathered $313,000 from over 200 donors, and they’re still welcoming more.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">On July 4th at 2 p.m., Cape Coral will host a ceremony to raise the massive, 300-pound flag. Just in time to celebrate our nation’s 250th birthday, and worth stopping by to see.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Join Cape Coral as they host an official flag-raising ceremony and celebrate this milestone on July 4th at 2:00 p.m. at Bernice Braden Park. Come out early, grab a spot, and witness history.</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">Where: Bernice Braden Park (near the Cape Coral Bridge)</p>

<p class="wp-block-paragraph">When: July 4th, Ceremony starts at 1:45 p.m. / Flag Raising at 2:50 p.m.</p>
