Englewood Invitational Fall Art Festival Moves to Pioneer Plaza for Thanksgiving Weekend

The Englewood Invitational Fall Art Festival will debut at its new location in Pioneer Plaza on Saturday, November 29 and Sunday, November 30 from 10 am to 4 pm, marking the first major art event of the season. The annual festival, long held at the Englewood Elks Lodge, is relocating to downtown Dearborn Street with expectations of increased visibility and community engagement.

Organizers say fifty fine artists and craftsmen from across the country will participate, offering a wide range of original work including jewelry, watercolor, acrylic and oil paintings, sculpture, blown glass, pottery, metalwork and photography. Visitors will have an opportunity to shop for holiday gifts while meeting the artists behind the creations.

Local artist and festival chair Carroll Swayze said the move to Pioneer Plaza at 325 West Dearborn Street has been years in the making. “I am very excited about this year’s show,” Swayze said. “I have wanted to move the art festival downtown for many years, but scheduling has always been a problem. This year the stars have aligned.”

Swayze added that the festival is partnering with the Lemon Bay Woman’s Club, which will host a booth recognizing the 100th anniversary of its historic clubhouse. She said the collaboration highlights the deep local roots shared by both organizations.

Organizers expect strong turnout from residents and visitors who come each year to find new artwork for their homes. The festival encourages guests to spend the day viewing exhibits, enjoying local restaurants and exploring downtown Englewood. Parking is free, and families are encouraged to attend.
