People for Trees, a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting the planting and preservation of native trees in Southwest Florida, will host a pop-up native tree sale on Saturday, June 28, from 9 to 11 a.m. at 3597 Froude Street, North Port.
The sale features a wide selection of native trees available in two container sizes. Seven-gallon trees ($35) include Live Oak, Longleaf Pine, and American Elm—all known for their resilience and ecological value. Three-gallon trees ($20) include Sweetgum (a special variety without spiky seed pods), Bald Cypress, Slash Pine, and Red Maple.
A special promotional offer features Southern Red Cedar in 7-gallon containers for just $25, providing an opportunity for homeowners to add an aromatic, salt-tolerant native evergreen to their landscape at a reduced cost.
Trees are available for purchase via cash or credit, and all proceeds support the organization’s efforts to enhance environmental awareness and expand the region’s native tree canopy.
For those unable to attend the pop-up sale, appointments are available for other days and times. Interested individuals can contact Alice White at (941) 468-2486 to schedule a private shopping experience.
People for Trees encourages community members to plant native species, which require less water and maintenance, support local wildlife, and help build a sustainable landscape resilient to Florida’s climate challenges.
