Bring a Donation, Hear the Beat: Beatles Tribute Benefit to Help Englewood Students’ Instruments

Beatle Tribute Benefit

The Artist Colony in Englewood is shaking things up with their 2nd Spring Art Show and a Beatles Tribute Benefit Concert, all happening Sunday, February 1, 2026.

Let’s be honest, listening to Beatles classics is great, but knowing every note helps local kids get instruments? Even better. The Beatles themselves would probably give a nod.

Artists start rolling in with their original work at 10 a.m. at Pioneer Plaza, 325 Dearborn. Wander through, check out the art, and get a feel for the day before the music kicks off.

Want to catch the concert at 4 p.m.? Bring along a food item or a cash donation. Food heads straight to St. David’s Jubilee Center; cash goes to “Music Instruments for Englewood Students,” a new program buying and repairing instruments for local kids. Since kicking off September 25, the 501c3 has already gathered over 30 donations for middle and high school music programs.

Thirsty? Drinks must stay on site. County rules, no exceptions. Charlie Foxtrot Brewing, a veteran-owned brewery, is bringing the beer. For food, you’re covered: Sip Sip Hooray Garden Cafe, the Open Studio, and the Portly Pirate are all serving their favorites.

A few days back, on January 22, the Open Studio hosted a Beatles Tribute rehearsal. Folks at the Garden Stage got everything from “Meet the Beatles” to “Rubber Soul.” Dan Klein’s drum solo brought the crowd to their feet, while Dale Shumate and Roy Choma nailed the guitars and vocals. Jay Schwarts worked the keyboard, layering in that unmistakable Beatles vibe.

This concert is just the start of a three-part Sunday series. Woodstock rolls in on March 8, and TropRock on April 12. More details are on the way. Questions? Email i2garden@yahoo.com or check out www.OldEnglewoodVillage.com.
