The Charlotte County Jazz Society presents The Music of Al and Zoot

The Charlotte County Jazz Society is pleased to present saxophonists Lew Del Gatto and Len Pierro performing “The Music of Al & Zoot” for the last concert of its 2025-2026 season. This concert will take place on April 13 at 7:00 PM at The Gulf Theater at the Military Heritage Museum at 900 W Marion Ave., Punta Gorda.
Lew Del Gatto is a dynamic figure in the New York music scene, with a career spanning over thirty years. His versatility and deep understanding of the musical art form have shaped his success. Notably, Del Gatto was a saxophonist with the Saturday Night Live Band from the show’s inception in 1975 through 1979, and again from 1985 until 2005. His versatile talents extend to work in jingles, films, jazz, and television.
Len Pierro is a multifaceted musician from the Philadelphia area, recognized as a performer, composer, arranger, musical director, producer, and educator. Len has been arranging and composing for recordings and live performances for many years. He leads the Len Pierro Jazz Orchestra and has released two CDs of his compositions and arrangements for big band titled “The Third Quarter” and “As I Was Saying.”
Lew Del Gatto and Len Pierro will be joined by Ken Levinsky on piano, Don Mopsick on bass, and Tony Vigilante on drums.
The Charlotte County Jazz Society will also be awarding its annual scholarships to several talented students during this concert.
Admission is free for Charlotte County Jazz Society members. For non-members, tickets are available for $25, payable at the door by cash or check. Tickets and memberships may also be purchased online at cc-jazz.org. Students are welcome to attend free of charge. All are invited to enjoy this memorable evening of jazz.
