Art Center Sarasota, the city’s first visual arts organization, is marking its 100th anniversary with a Centennial Season featuring exhibitions, events, and expanded programming from fall 2025 through fall 2026.
The season honors a century of community impact while laying the foundation for the next 100 years of creativity. Special Centennial Season Funds have been established to direct support where it is most needed, ensuring the sustainability of the center’s mission.
Programming includes the inaugural Authors & Illustrators Book Fair on December 6, 2025, recurring community favorites such as Art Actually, Second Fridays: Creative Happy Hour, and Saturday Night Sketch Club, as well as youth and family programs. The historic Beaux Arts Ball, first held in the 1940s, will return on March 21, 2026, at the Sarasota Municipal Auditorium, blending costume, performance, and celebration.
The season begins October 9, 2025, with an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. and four dynamic exhibitions running through November 15. These include the juried Small Works Show, Legacy x Response by the SARTQ Artist Collective, Earthly Glyphs by Juan Alonso-Rodríguez, and Reconstruction: Mwacha Mila NiSi Mtumwa by Njeri Kinuthia. The exhibitions highlight both Sarasota’s artistic legacy and contemporary perspectives on culture, identity, and transformation.
Art Center Sarasota’s exhibitions are supported in part by Sarasota County Tourist Development Tax revenues and community donors. The center is located at 707 N. Tamiami Trail, Sarasota. More information is available at ArtSarasota.org or by calling 941-365-2032.
