City of North Port Hosts Public Works and Utilities Hiring Event

The City of North Port will host a hiring event for its Public Works and Utilities departments on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at the City of North Port Public Works Facilities, 1100 North Chamberlain Boulevard.

The event will feature hiring managers, supervisors, and human resources representatives on site to answer job-specific questions as well as provide information about pay, benefits, and career opportunities. Attendees will have the chance to apply, interview, and learn more about working for the city.

Positions currently open include Solid Waste Equipment Operator I, Solid Waste Laborer, Planner/Scheduler roles in both Solid Waste and Utilities, Emergency Vehicle Technician, Fleet Mechanic Assistant, Collection and Distribution Trainee, and Mechanic I. Salaries range from $34,309 to $88,150 depending on position, qualifications, and experience.

North Port officials emphasize that the city strives to be an employer of choice, with many workers building long-term careers in public service. New employees are typically hired near the entry point of the posted salary ranges.
