Englewood Fire Department Open House

The Englewood Fire Department will host its annual Open House on Saturday, Oct. 4, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Englewood Fire Training Center, 13400 Haligan Way, Englewood, FL 34223.

The free, family-friendly event invites residents to explore fire service equipment, try a supervised fire hose spray, and ride in a ladder truck bucket. Live fire demonstrations, games and prizes are planned, along with complimentary hot dogs, popcorn and refreshments sponsored by Sarasota County.

This year’s Open House launches Fire Prevention Week, themed “Charge into Fire Safety: Lithium-Ion Batteries in Your Home,” emphasizing safe purchasing, charging and recycling practices for battery-powered devices commonly used at home.

Event staff and firefighters will be on site to answer questions about emergency response, preparedness and home safety, including guidance on lithium-ion battery handling, smoke alarm maintenance and residential evacuation planning.
