Wreaths Across America Ceremony to Honor Veterans in Englewood and Punta Gorda on December 13, 2025
Englewood, FL — On Saturday, December 13, 2025, the Englewood community will come together to honor and remember the nation’s fallen heroes during National Wreaths Across America Day. A special ceremony will take place at Gulf Pines Memorial Park, located at 2401 Englewood Road, beginning at 10:00 AM.
This annual event is part of a nationwide effort coordinated by Wreaths Across America, a nonprofit organization whose mission is to Remember, Honor, and Teach by placing wreaths on the graves of veterans across the country each December.
Englewood is home to two cemeteries where veterans are laid to rest: Gulf Pines Memorial Park and Lemon Bay Historical Cemetery. Volunteers, families, and members of the community are invited to attend the ceremony and help lay wreaths on veterans’ graves as a gesture of gratitude and remembrance.
Later that same day, at 4:30 PM, a somber tribute will also be held to honor Vietnam Veterans at the Vietnam Wall Memorial in Punta Gorda. This moving ceremony offers an opportunity to reflect and pay tribute to those who served during the Vietnam War, ensuring their sacrifices are never forgotten.
“We encourage everyone in the community to join us for these important events,” said Catalina Bakas and Matthew Becker are the local coordinators for Wreaths Across America in Englewood. “This is a chance to show our veterans and their families that we will never forget what they have given for our country.”
