March Against Violence

Dec. 17 @ 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Peaceful community walk to promote a safe and positive environment for Englewood students in school

L.A. Ainger School, 245 Cougar Way

March Against Violence Following a middle school incident where a student was critically injured in an unprovoked attack by another student, parents and other community members are stepping up to create a more peaceful and safe learning environment for children. On World Kindness Day, spearheaded by parents and concerned community members, students decorated pins with positive messages and would secretly leave them for other students to brighten their day. Another action step being taken is a “March Against Violence” set for Sunday, December 17, 9am, at L.A. Ainger School, 245 Cougar Way. All are invited to participate in this community march to symbolize unity and solidarity and to help restore an atmosphere of safety in the school environment for students. The walk will cover around 1 ½ miles around the school neighborhood, and will help show students that they can inspire and influence change at the individual and societal level. The group’s goal is that Englewood youth have the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in an atmosphere of respect, tolerance, and inclusivity.
