Charlotte County Libraries and History invites you to visit the historic Cookie House, built in 1931 as part of the Bass Biological Laboratory, the first full time marine station on the Florida mainland. New interpretive banners discuss the history of this unique structure and provide insight into the Bass lab, including the recovery of thousands of documents now housed at Mote Marine Laboratory and Aquarium in Sarasota. Libraries and History staff will be on site to answer questions. The Cookie House is located on the grounds of Cedar Point Environmental Park, 2300 Placida Road. Come tour the structure on Fridays from 10:30am to 2:30pm, starting January 19th through March 29th. For more information, call Charlotte County historian Jennifer Zoebelein at 941•629•7278.
